The Western Blue Charaxes butterfly is one of the fastest in the world. Charaxes are a group of African fruit and sap feeders known for their outstanding powers of flight and pugnacious behavior. The wings of this butterfly are serrated and sometimes used as a weapon to joust or “elbow” other butterflies away from favorite feeding areas.
